Ask five wedding planners in Hyderabad what a wedding costs and you'll get five different answers, none of them a number. That's not evasion. It's because the same guest count can produce quotes that differ by several lakhs depending on decisions you haven't made yet.
Here's what actually drives the figure, so you can read a quotation properly instead of just comparing totals.
The short answer
Wedding event management with Raw Group starts from approximately ₹2 lakhs. Where it goes from there depends on nine things.
That's a starting point for management and design, not a package. A single-day celebration for 200 guests and a five-function wedding for 2,000 are different exercises, and pretending otherwise with a fixed price only means something gets quietly removed later.
1. How many functions
This moves the number more than anything else.
One ceremony is one build, one team, one day. Engagement, haldi, mehendi, sangeet, wedding and reception is six of everything, six setups, six dismantles, six crews, six timelines, often across different venues.
Two weddings with identical guest counts can differ by lakhs purely on function count. Decide this before you ask anyone for a price.
2. How many guests
Guest count doesn't scale costs in a straight line. It steps.
At 200 guests you need a room. At 800 you need crowd flow, more service staff, bigger sound and someone managing parking. At 3,000 you need a different category of venue entirely, plus security coordination and a hospitality team.
Our team has managed weddings up to 10,000 guests, and the honest lesson from those is that the guest list quietly decides most of the budget.
3. The venue
A hotel ballroom includes things a farmhouse doesn't: power, kitchens, staff, parking, furniture. An open ground gives you total design freedom and a bill for every single thing you'd otherwise have taken for granted, generators, flooring, cooling, toilets, lighting rigs.
Neither is wrong. But comparing a ballroom quote to a ground quote without accounting for that is how budgets break.
This is why we do a site recce for every wedding, regardless of budget, checking access, power, ceiling height, guest movement and what the venue genuinely allows before anything is designed or priced.
4. Décor and stage
Usually the largest single line, and the one with the widest range.
Cost is driven by scale and material more than by style: the size of the stage, how much of it is fresh flower versus fabric and structure, ceiling work, entrance treatments, mandap design, furniture, and how much has to be custom-built rather than hired.
We don't hand clients a catalogue to pick from. The concept is built around your venue, your colours, your outfits and your budget, which also means we can tell you honestly where to spend and where nobody will notice the difference.
5. Photography and videography
Ranges widely depending on how much you want captured and how it's delivered, traditional coverage, candid, cinematic films, pre-wedding shoots, drone, same-day edits, reels, albums.
The variables that change the price are crew size, number of days, and post-production. A two-camera single-day shoot and a full team across six functions with a cinematic edit are different products.
6. Entertainment
Anything from a DJ to live bands, singers, choreographed sequences, anchors and celebrity artists. This is one of the easier lines to scale up or down late, which makes it useful as a budget valve.
7. Catering
Driven by guest count, number of meals across the functions, cuisine, live counters, and service style. Buffet versus plated changes staffing significantly.
Food is also the thing guests remember most reliably and judge most harshly, so it's rarely the right place to economise first.
8. Production and technical
LED walls, sound, stage lighting, trussing, effects, live streaming for family who can't travel. Bigger weddings need heavier rigs and a technical crew on site.
9. Who actually manages it
The line most people don't compare, and the one that matters most on the day.
There is a real difference between a decorator who builds a beautiful setup and leaves, and a team that stays through the event coordinating vendors, timelines, guest movement and everything that goes wrong quietly.
We assign a dedicated manager and coordinators to every wedding. It makes a quotation higher than a pure décor quote. It also means nobody in your family spends the wedding on the phone to a vendor.
If two quotes are far apart, this line is usually the reason, check it before assuming one is overpriced.
How to compare quotations properly
Put them side by side and check what's actually in each one:
- Number of functions covered, and setup and dismantle for each
- Fresh flower quantity versus fabric and structure
- How many people are on the ground on the day
- Whether the price includes production, or that's separate
- What happens if the guest count rises by 20%
- Who is responsible if a vendor doesn't turn up
A cheaper quote is often a smaller scope, not a better deal.
Before you ask anyone for a price
Have answers to these and every quotation you receive becomes comparable:
- Which functions, and on which dates
- Expected guests per function
- Venue, or the type of venue you want
- Rough décor ambition, simple, elegant, or statement
- Photography and video coverage you want
- Catering style and cuisine
- Whether you want the wedding managed, or just built
- Your realistic ceiling, not your ideal number
Our experience
Raw Group is a new firm, but the team behind it brings 8+ years and 1,000+ events, including weddings up to 10,000 guests and a six-day wedding worth approximately ₹1 crore with multiple functions each day.
We work across Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Guntur, and we'd rather tell you honestly what your budget can achieve than sell you a package that quietly loses things along the way.
